Synopsis

Bodyguard Celia Graves has definitely accepted her share of weird assignments, both human and supernatural. But her newest job takes the cake. Guarding a Prince from terrorists and religious fundamentalists is hard enough, but it seems like the entire supernatural world is after this guy too. When she is betrayed by those she is employed to help, and everything goes horribly wrong, Celia wakes to find herself transformed.

Neither human nor vampire, Celia has become an Abomination—something that should not exist—and now both human and supernatural alike want her dead. With the help of a few loyal friends—a sexy mage, a powerful werewolf, and a psychic cop—Celia does her best to stay alive. On the run from her enemies, Celia must try to discover who is behind her transformation…before it’s too late.

Review

Celia Graves is a very unique bodyguard, she uses enchanted weapons instead of your typical guns. In the first book she's guarding a Eastern European Prince who is visiting some really trashy strip clubs. When they are attacked, her attacker bites her and transforms her into a abomination, not a vampire and not human anymore. There aren't many of who she is in the world because they don't handle who they are well. With a doctors diet she will try her best to stay sane and find her sire before he finds here.

While Celia is waking up from finding her life changed forever she also learns that her best friend Vicki died the night before when she was being attacked. Celia sets out to find out if her death was a planned murder or just a accident. She needs to learn to deal with being a abomination, find out the truth about Vicki, deal with the vampires, and keep the police from staking her.

I purchased this book over a year ago excited by the idea of a kick ass body guard which is unique to a cop or bounty hunter, but it was quickly lost in my shelf of TBR for a werewolf series. As fate would have it I needed a vampire series for bingo this week so I pulled it off the shelf. I really liked Celia, she's tough, but she's also has a soft spot, like her friends and grandmother. She's has flaws she's by no means perfect but I think that's why I like her. I loved the reading about her learning to deal with her new fangs and diet. It adds a little humor to the action packed story line.  My heart went out to her when she lost Vicki, it's hard to loose someone but she handles it well. Blood Song, is packed full of action, supernatural creatures, handsome men, and a kick ass heroine. I was a little nervous at first because I'm not in the mood for vampire books, but this one sucked me in right from the start and I had to finish it before bed. I look forward to reading what happens next.
