 Interview with Jessica Sorensen 

Today I am super happy to bring to all my readers a interview I was super lucky to snag with Jessica Sorensen the author of the exciting new novel Ember. 

Mandy - Where did you get the inspiration for Ember?

Jessica - The idea of Ember being able to see death came from a dream. The angels and reapers aspect was added after I started the story and needed paranormal creatures that were related to death.

Mandy - Do you see yourself in your characters? If so which one?

Jessica - There might be a little of me in Ember, but it’s because we both love to write.

Mandy - Do you have a favorite series you like to write or do you love them all?

Jessica - I don’t really have a favorite, since all of them give me an excuse to write.

Mandy - Did you always know you wanted to be a writer?

Jessica - Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved to write. There were a few times in my life were I strayed to different career ideas, but being a writer was always in the back of my mind.

Mandy - If you had to be a character in a book who would you be and why?

Jessica - If I had to pick, I’d probably say Ella from The Secret of Ella and Micha because I’d get to hang out with Micha all day and drive some awesome cars.

Mandy - What kind of atmosphere do you prefer when you write?

 Jessica - My favorite place to write is in my office with the music cranked up so there are no distractions.

Mandy - Who is your favorite Muppet?

Jessica - I don’t know… Kermit the frog? It’s been a while since I’ve watched the Muppets, lol.

Mandy - Do you have favorite gadget?

Jessica - My phone.

Mandy - What’s your favorite quote?

Jessica - I have a ton of favorite quotes, but here’s one:

Mandy - What are 5 items you never leave home without?
Jessica - My phone, my purse, my sunglasses, chapstick, and my car keys.
